Cable car on Etna 

Etna is the highest volcano in Europe that dominates Sicily, the three seas that surround it and Calabria. It has a height of about 3350 meters above sea level and an area of about 1250 km2, but it is also one of the most active volcanoes in the world for the continuous eruptive events of recent years.

Etna attracts the scientific curiosity and tourist interest of visitors from all over the world because it offers multiple and suggestive aspects with the view of adventitious craters, secular lava flows, woods, citrus groves and verdant vineyards.

You will see an unparalleled scenery suspended over the sea from which you can admire the imposing central crater, the South-East crater, the historical and recent lava flows that characterize the landscape.

The volcano is accessible through the provincial roads coming from Nicolosi and Zafferana. The starting point is fixed at 1923 meters altitude in Nicolosi, at Rifugio Sapienza, every day weather permitting.

The cable car arrives at an altitude of 2500 meters and, once at this altitude, the tour can be continued with independent trekking in the preferred direction and for the required time.
