Boat trip to Favignana and Levanzo

Favignana and Levanzo boat excursion from Trapani
The Gulliver agency offers you an excursion that will allow you to discover the most beautiful islands of the Egadi Islands made of history, traditions, colors and scents.

Departure is scheduled at 9:00 from the port of Trapani where the boat will wait for you and will direct you to the island of Favignana and will begin to skirt it.

The island of Favignana
It is the queen of the archipelago of the Egadi islands nicknamed “the butterfly island” for its characteristic shape.

During navigation, the mini cruise will stop in the most beautiful and evocative coves such as: Cala Azzurra, Bue Marino and in particular Cala Rossa, one of the most beautiful in the world that resembles an amphitheater protected by rocks that fall on the clear and turquoise waters of the sea, where swimming will be provided.

It will also be possible to make a short stop at the port of Favignana to visit the historic center, do some shopping, rent bicycles or scooters to take a tour of the island and visit the “Florio” Tuna Museum

On board it will be possible to delight in a tasty lunch offered by our Captain.

After lunch we will head to Levanzo where we will stop for about an hour to visit the small fishing village and to taste the excellent granitas or the famous artisan ice cream.

The island of Levanzo
It is the smallest of the Egadi islands with an area of 5 kilometers and consists of white limestone rocks and numerous caves. It consists of a few houses and a small village, while on the coast there are caves and the best known are: the Grotta del Genovese, Cala Faraglione, Cala Fredda and Cala Minnola.

The latter is a real little wonder known for its crystal clear waters and for one of the most important submerged archaeological sites in Sicily where there is the wreck of a Roman ship, the remains of a load of amphorae and fragments of crockery lying at a depth of about 27 meters.

Finally, the excursion will end by heading towards the port of Trapani and, during this navigation, you will be able to admire one of the most fascinating sunsets in Sicily.

Favignana

Favignana is the largest and most important of the Egadi Islands, three islands off the western coast of Sicily. Favignana has good, frequent ferry connections with the other islands and with Trapani; the proximity of Trapani Airport makes the island remarkably accessible from the rest of Europe. This easy access hasn’t – yet – spoiled the island, which is a fairly low-key destination most visited by Italian holiday-makers. Although there are tourist amenities, the island’s character seems little-altered, and travellers who come here are happy to fit in with the leisurely island way of life.
One of the charms of the Egadi Islands is that they have never been populated with villas of the rich, nor frequented by the showy, and no out-of-character attractions have been developed for tourists, so compared with the crowded tourist islands of Capri and Ischia, and the chic atmosphere of some of the Aeolian Islands, Favignana and its Egadi siblings have a refreshing simple authenticity.

Cala Rossa

Cala Rossa is a small beach located in beautiful tuff quarries, here the sea is beautiful and also around the beach there are cliffs from where you can admire the view.

Levanzo

Levanzo is the smallest of the three Egadi Islands (Isole Egadi in Italian), off the western coast of Sicily. The island’s little port is hugely picturesque; a small cluster of pale square buildings huddled around a little harbour of an amazing blue. Levanzo’s population is approximately 200, and the little village around the port is the only settlement, though there are a few scattered buildings and farms further afield.

Cala Minnola

Cala Minnola is a small wonder on the island of Levanzo, the smallest island of the three Egadi.
The water is transparent, and there is a suggestive cave accessible by swimming and / or walking in the water because the sea level is low.
