Cous Cous Fest – San Vito Lo Capo
The Cous Cous Fest is the International Festival of Cultural Integration, an important event that has been renewed for over eighteen years.
A celebration of flavors and cultures, the festival honors cous cous as a dish of peace — a meal shared by many civilizations, capable of bringing together ten different countries in San Vito Lo Capo under the banner of integration and cultural exchange.
Since 1998, the Cous Cous Fest has been one of the most anticipated summer events in San Vito Lo Capo, filling the town with colors, aromas, and tastes from all over the world.
It was born from the desire to gather people around a simple Mediterranean dish, combining a love for food, cultural dialogue, and unity among nations.
Every year, renowned chefs from all over the world come to this beautiful corner of Sicily to share a unique experience — competing with creativity and joy, preparing original and delicious cous cous dishes, cheered on by an ever-growing audience.
10 Days Full of Events…
…where you can taste cous cous in a thousand variations, join cooking workshops, attend cultural talks, and enjoy live shows and concerts in Piazza Santuario, featuring international artists.
Cous cous is now inseparably linked to San Vito Lo Capo — no longer just a recipe, but a symbol of unity among cultures and religions, blending the joy of celebration with the hope for a better world.
During the festival, the entire town transforms into a permanent open-air food laboratory.
The most creative recipes and ancient flavors come together, giving space to imagination while always honoring tradition.
Inside the Gastronomic Village, visitors will find dozens of food stands offering over 30 different cous cous recipes — choosing just one will be the hardest part!
And, of course, you can’t miss the sweet side of Sicily:
Cannoli, cascatelle, and almond cookies, perfectly paired with excellent local wines.
For those who wish to learn the art of cous cous making, including the ancient “incocciatura” technique (the traditional hand-rolling of cous cous grains), culinary workshops are held throughout the event — a hands-on experience you’ll never forget.
